Parandroid`s thoughts on the G14 2021

The Asus G14 is thin, extremely lightweight, and powerful. It sports a Ryzen 7 or 9 respöectively and comes with up to RTX 3060 graphics. The main selling point apart from an amazing design, top-notch build quality is the form factor. There never has been an Ultrabook in this form factor anywhere near its amazing performance.

Like many other contemporary higher-end Asus Laptops it also features USB-C Charging (PD) and has the Animatrix Display on its lid which lets you display cool graphics. This might seem like a gimmick, but to be frank as a DJ or Live Act it could be integrated into the performance in some way. Think what you want about it, but I love it, even if it just for additional customization. Definitely a massive plus.

The 2021 G14 comes with a quite hefty price tag though. It goes for about 2300-2500€ in Germany at the time of writing this article, which in my opinion, is simply a way too much moola for what it is. Yes, it is innovative, sexy, slim, powerful, and so forth. But in this case, there is just a  lot of competition around. But worry not, and here my suggestion: If you really primarily want it as an Ultra performant thin and light daily driver, then go with the 2020 version of the laptop. It starts at 900 Euro at the moment and is almost entirely the same as the 2021 G14 when it comes to feature sets and aesthetics. This laptop is anyway not meant to replace your desktop PC. I am still considering getting a G14 at some point just for traveling. My fav of them is the G14 Animatrix with a  Ryzen 7 and GTX 1660ti, which, in my opinion, is well enough performance for a travel companion Ultrabook.
