3. C6 | Multiband Compressor

For years, the C4 has been a favorite of studio engineers the world over, and in live sound, it’s quickly become a must-have for front-of-house and monitor professionals as well. To create the C6, we took the tried-and-true functions of the C4, and added two additional floating bands plus a sidechain feature, for one-stop vocal and instrument shaping. Equally at home in the studio, live, and in post-production, the C6 lets you zero in on problem frequencies with surgical precision.

Perfect for de-essing and de-popping in the studio or onstage, the C6 gives you all the multiband compression and dynamic equalization you need to control, tame, and shape your sound.

4. Ozone Suite

Ozone 9 helps make mastering easier with AI-powered assistive audio tools that give you an instant starting point. New source separation technology in Master Rebalance lets you correct instrument levels before starting your master, or add excitement to key sections. Have the final say in any mix with complete control of your sound.

5. Steinberg Roomworks

RoomWorks is a highly adjustable reverb plug-in for creating realistic room ambiance and reverb effects in stereo and surround formats. The CPU usage is adjustable to fit the needs of any system. From short room reflections to cavern-sized reverb, this plug-in delivers high-quality reverberation.

6. Steinberg PingPongDelay

This is a stereo delay effect that alternates each delay repeat between the left and right channels. The effect can either be tempo-based or use freely specified delay time settings.

It is the most basic delay plugin you can imagine but that is definitely also it`s strength. Often you just do not need anything more than a simple Ping Pong delay. It is indeed one of the most fundamental effects in music production as a whole. While an assortment of different delays is a must for any music producer, I still believe that in my case this is the most crucial one. It is also by far the one that I use the most.

7. The Pultec EQP-1A

The Pultec EQP-1A is renowned for its unique ability to boost and cut the same frequencies simultaneously, thereby creating a resonant shelf. The PuigTec EQP-1A is a remarkable replication of the original hand-crafted unit owned by iconic producer/engineer Jack Joseph Puig (U2, Rolling Stones, Lady Gaga) and heard on dozens of popular recordings by Weezer, Black Crowes and many more.

The distinctive tonal characteristics of the MEQ-5 have made the original Pultec hardware a mainstay at high-end studios for decades. The midrange PuigTec MEQ-5 and the broadband PuigTec EQP-1A together comprise a full range vintage EQ chain.

It is the right choice for aesthetic EQ work and can be used on a wide range of instruments.

8. R-BASS

One of the industry’s favorite plugin for delivering a richer, deeper low end that translates even on small playback systems. A tried-and-true workhorse for countless Grammy-winning audio engineers.

When you need your bass to be heard even on a laptop or mobile device, Renaissance Bass is your best friend. Using Waves’ patented MaxxBass® psychoacoustic technology, R-Bass accurately reproduces low-frequency content on playback systems that cannot physically handle these signals. This is achieved by the creation of harmonics of the fundamental, which fool the brain into perceiving bass frequencies that are not actually there.

With a simple, user-friendly interface—just 3 controls for frequency tuning, intensity, and output gain—R-Bass makes it quick and easy to dial in a punchy bass sound that will sound great on systems of all sizes.
